Flavors of Austin is an exclusive benefit hosted by University of Texas Legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame Member, Earl Campbell, to raise awareness and funding for the Pro Player Foundation and highlighted beneficiary the National MS Society. Earl’s son, Tyler Campbell, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2007. As a PPF Ambassador, Tyler has used his platform to inspire and motivate the MS community. The event features many of Austin's award-winning restaurants, an auction, live music, and multiple Pro Football Hall of Fame members including Tony Dorsett, Joe Greene, Randall McDaniel, John Randle, Eric Dickerson, and UT Legends. The vision of Flavors of Austin is a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. We look forward to hosting our 10th Flavors of Austin event.
Flavors of the Gaslamp is a fundraising event set in the heart of downtown San Diego. Past event hosts include Hall of Fame nominees Eric Allen and Lorenzo Neal, Defensive Coordinator John Pagano, Chargers Antonio Garay and Vincent Brown, Hall of Fame Member Earl Campbell and his son, San Diego State stand-out, Tyler Campbell. Tyler was diagnosed with MS in 2007 while playing football at San Diego State University. The event features tasting stations from San Diego’s best restaurants, live entertainment, an auction, and the chance to mix and mingle with Hall of Famers and Charger greats. Pro Player Foundation hosted 9 Flavors of the Gaslamp events which highlighted cancer charities and the National MS Society. We hope to host the 10th Annual Flavors of the Gaslamp.
Pro Player Foundation hosted bowling events during over the course of 12 NFL seasons. Hosts included San Diego Chargers Shawne Merriman, Darren Bennett, Quentin Jammer, Jacques Cesaire, Kendall Reyes, and Jerry Attaochu. Beneficiaries were the Salvation Army, Alpha Project for the Homeless, Rady Children’s Hospital, and the Jammer Family Foundation targeting the San Pasqual Academy for foster children. Pro Player Foundation also invited families from Rady Children’s Hospital for a special outing and break from the hospital. Lane sponsors had the chance to bowl with Charger players, bid on auction items and sample culinary specialties from area restaurants. The PPF Bowling nights rallied the community for causes close to our hearts.
New England Patriots Hall of Fame Legend Andre Tippett hosted Flavors of New England at the picturesque Seaport Boston Hotel. The goal of the event was to raise awareness and funding for Pro Player Foundation and the highlighted beneficiary, the National MS Society. PPF Ambassador Tyler Campbell served as keynote speaker and shared his personal story. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy tasting stations from Boston’s outstanding restaurants including a Vince Wilfork BBQ sauce station and the Boston University Drumline and Pep Band performed. Event attendees were able to bid in the auction and meet Hall of Famers and former Patriot players.
Dallas Cowboys Punter Mat McBriar and his wife Erin partnered with Pro Player Foundation to hold our Annual Holiday Kicks for Kids party and gift giveaway. The event benefited patients from Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas who were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Children from the hospital received a variety of holiday gifts and were treated to a great party with Dallas Cowboys players at the Gaylord Texan Resort.
Past Pro Player Foundation President, Darren Bennett founded the Great Australian BBQ and Night Golf Tournament to raise funding and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Will Bennett, the Bennett’s eldest son was diagnosed with DMD in 2003 and the Great Australian BBQ and Golf Tournament was created. The event featured night golf, samplings of San Diego’s finest BBQ restaurants, charity gaming tables, live entertainment, and a fashion show. The tournament benefitted Parent Project MD and cutting-edge research. Bennett’s San Diego Charger teammates joined Will’s Special Team to promote DMD awareness and shine a light on the cause.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers hosted Twelve’s Day of XMAS and took 100 kids from the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing and the Salvation Army shopping at a Green Bay Shoko. EPH is an organization of churches working together to help homeless families. Twenty of Aaron’s teammates participated to help the children pick out gifts and enjoy a pizza party.
