Pro Player Foundation Teams Up With Kendra Scott for Giveback Event

Join us on Saturday, June 22 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. to shop for a cause at Kendra Scott UTC as we target Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Pro Player Foundation has partnered with Kendra Scott located at Westfield University Town Center (4309 La Jolla Village Dr, Suite 2330, San Diego, CA 92122). We are shopping to raise awareness and funding for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) in honor of Will Bennett, the son of Chargers Hall of Fame member Darren Bennett and his wife, Rosemary. 20% of all purchases will benefit Pro Player Foundation and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. Can’t make it in-store? Visit www.kendrascott.com any time between June 15 to June 22 and use the code GIVEBACK-PROPLAYER to support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Pro Player Foundation has created events such as the Great Australian BBQ and Night Golf Tournament, Will’s Special Team, and JBowl to fund DMD research. Will Bennett was diagnosed with the disease in 2003. Since then, Darren, Rosemary and Pro Player Foundation have been dedicated advocates for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy awareness. Darren, an 11-year NFL veteran with the San Diego Chargers and the Minnesota Vikings, was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams twice, honored on the San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary team, and included in the NFL’s All-Decade team for the 1990s.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a severe, progressive genetic disorder characterized by muscle degeneration and weakness, primarily affecting boys. It is caused by mutations in the DMD gene, which encodes the protein dystrophin, essential for muscle fiber stability. Symptoms typically manifest in early childhood, with affected individuals experiencing difficulty in walking, frequent falls, and ultimately, severe respiratory and cardiac complications.

We are so thankful for Kendra Scott’s deep commitment to philanthropy. Through her worldwide brand, she has not only revolutionized the jewelry industry with her vibrant, accessible designs but also consistently supports charitable causes, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community. Her seamless blend of passion for fashion and philanthropy creates avenues for countless initiatives to make a tangible difference in the world.
