The University of Texas Legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame Member Earl Campbell will be hosting the Eighth Annual Flavors of Austin sponsored by Biogen in honor of his son Tyler. The event will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Austin.  The exclusive benefit will raise awareness and funding for The Pro Player Foundation and the 2019 highlighted beneficiary: The National MS Society. Our vision, in connection with the National MS Society, is a world free of multiple sclerosis. It is our hope that people affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and put MS out of business.  Pro Football Hall of Fame Members Tony Dorsett, Charles Haley, Randall McDaniel and John Randle are attending as well as 1995 Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George and Cowboy’s Legend Ed “Too Tall” Jones to support the cause.

Flavors of Austin Sponsorship

The Flavors of Austin 2018 event was as successful as ever, and we are very thankful for those who helped us in making it such a memorable night. The culinary community who joined us at our 2018 event included The Bonneville, Chinatown, Eberly, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Greenhouse, Hoover’s Cooking, the Hyatt Regency, Jugo, Austin Gourmet Popcorn, Ranch 616, Salt and Time, Salt Lick BBQ, Tamale Addiction, The University of Texas Club, and Whitfield’s. Delectable desserts also were provided by Amy’s Ice Cream, Yummi Joy, Shipley Do-Nuts and Sinsational Cakes Bakery. Earl’s Hall of Fame friends included Joe Greene, Tony Dorsett, Randall McDaniel and HOF nominee Lorenzo Neal, as well as numerous University of Texas legends who attended to support those battling MS.

Earl’s son, Tyler Campbell, was a running back for San Diego State University in 2006 and 2007. Prior to the start of his senior year, Tyler was diagnosed with MS. Tyler did not want to let his team down, and played his final season at SDSU with MS.  His diagnosis sidelined his dream of following in his Father’s footsteps and playing in the NFL, but Tyler stated, “When one door closes, another opens.” Currently, Tyler is an Ambassador for the Pro Player Foundation and works tirelessly to provide hope and inspiration for those who live with Multiple Sclerosis.

The Pro Player Foundation addresses the needs of the underserved by raising funds and awareness through special events and programs. We are targeting Multiple Sclerosis, an unpredictable and often disabling disease that disturbs the flow of information from the brain, through the central nervous system, and to the muscle.  People diagnosed with MS may feel frequent tingling and numbness, and the disease may eventually lead to blindness and paralysis. The Pro Player Foundation wants to end Multiple Sclerosis forever and we need your help!

“With how Multiple Sclerosis attacks, it does not matter your race, gender, nationality or age,” says 16-year NFL veteran Lorenzo Nealand a Host of Flavors of the Gaslamp in San Diego. “MS is a horrible disease that is out there [today], I am here today to bring awareness and raise more money for what the Campbell family is doing to combat MS.”
