Quentin Jammer, a native of Bay City, Texas is the veteran leader of the Chargers’ secondary and has quietly become one of the NFL’s top shutdown cornerbacks. Quentin is as solid as they come and week-in and week-out is called upon to go toe-to-toe with the NFL’s best receivers. Voted one of the 50 Greatest Chargers of All-Time, Quentin was a cornerstone for the NFL’s top-ranked defense in 2010. He started every game for a unit that led the NFL total defense, pass defense and yards allowed per pass play. Quentin is a two-time winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award and his high level of play inspired teammates to select him as the team’s most inspirational player in 2008.
Quentin and his wife, Alicia, are very active in the community. They oversee the Jammer Family Foundation, which partners with the San Pasqual Academy, a first-of-its-kind residential education campus designed specifically for foster teens. The foundation is the highlighted charity for JBowl, a charity bowling event which benefits Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. Quentin co-hosts JBowl with fellow defensive teammate and good friend Jacques Cesaire as well as Pro Player Foundation President and former Chargers Punter Darren Bennett.
In 2009, San Diego County Supervisors Greg Cox and Ron Roberts honored the Jammer Family for their work with the Academy, and later that year, the world famous Harlem Globetrotters honored Quentin during a tour stop in San Diego.
Quentin played college football at the University of Texas and was an Ethnic Studies major. In his senior season as a Longhorn, he was voted First-team All-American, All-Big 12 honors, was the first-ever Longhorn finalist for Jim Thorpe Award (nation's top Defensive Back) and became the team's co-MVP and Outstanding Defensive Player Of The Year. He ended his college football career with seven interceptions and 195 total tackles.
Quentin and Alicia have three boys, Kaden, Kaleb, and Kasen and reside in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
